Adventure and Fun: Scuba Dive the Florida Keys

Adventure and Fun: Scuba Dive the Florida Keys

One of the best areas to scuba dive within North America is in the Florida Keys, a long string of islands just south of Miami. For any scuba diver traveling to southern Florida, even a quick day trip to the Florida Keys is worthwhile. There’s great scuba diving all along the Keys from the first community of Key Largo, through to the middle at Marathon and all the way to the end where Key West is located. One can get to Key Largo in about 45 minutes from Miami and the protected Pennekamp marine park in the surrounding waters offers much more marine life to see than the waters off Miami or Fort Lauderdale. Key Largo in particular is a scuba diver’s town with numerous dive operators and some retailers who carry diving equipment and gear. The Glitzy Art Deco District of Miami

The Glitzy Art Deco District of Miami

Your Miami Beach vacation would be incomplete without a visit to the glitzy Art Deco District at South Beach. SoBe, as it is called, has the largest stretch of surviving Art Deco architecture in the world. Bring plenty of money, too, since entry to the...

Best Time To Visit Florida

Best Time To Visit Florida

Moving chronologically through the calendar, January and February are usually considered off peak months, which means that if you are looking for a little less crowded theme park experience, this is an ideal time to travel. Lines for major attractions are short, and often non existent, and the days, although warm and pleasant are not debilitating. This is a popular time for seniors to travel to Florida, often to escape the winter conditions in their home land or state. And these “snowbirds” as they are known, have been around a while and are savvy enough to know a great vacation opportunity when it presents itself. Many families also take the opportunity to travel at this time of year when accommodation costs, especially in privately rented vacation homes, tend to be at their lowest. After all, you get all the usual luxury you would expect, but for a lot less...
